Evelyn Coronel Diaz
Hi my name is Evelyn Coronel. I am from Venezuela and my first language is Spanish. I am an experienced, creative and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher who has over the years maintained a passion for working with children and a love of teaching by my continued involvement in education.
As a director I feel gratified at the end of the day when I know my team has done a great job and children and parents are happy. It is a nice feeling when I receive an email or nice words saying that we are doing a great job.
My philosophy is to reflect the aspirations of parents, staff members and the organisation. It is based on the belief that parents and staff can work together to provide the best possible foundation for the growth of each child.
I like to make sure that teachers, while guiding and supporting children’s knowledge and interests, actually are learners in the process as well. Each child has a focus career who documents children’s work in a portfolio and maintains developmental records that form a picture of each child’s progress.
Families are instrumental in the philosophy and the exchange of information about children between parents and the centre is very important.
My team, families and children are always happy and nurturing. I believe that children learn best when they are happy, respected and feel secure enough to make mistakes and take risks with their learning. I believe that children should have educational experiences that meet their individual needs, interests and stage of development. This allows children to be challenged, stimulated and actively involved with their learning experiences.
